Reasonable adjustment of the equipment inlet and exhaust fans can effectively improve the traveling drying power and reduce the production energy consumption. There are many ways to reduce the energy consumption of spray drying equipment. According to different types and applicable scales of spray drying equipment, there are corresponding energy-saving methods. The conventional energy-saving methods can be summarized as follows:

1. Reduce the outlet air temperature. When the outlet temperature is too high, it is undoubtedly not conducive to energy conservation and emission reduction. After calculation, we found that the former is more economical than the latter. For the adjustment of air outlet temperature, please refer to the moisture content of materials.

2. Temperature of drying medium at the air inlet of traveling spray dryer. Through the test data calculation, it is found that the traveling thermal power can be used if the drying medium temperature at the feed inlet is properly increased. The bump demand of travel temperature depends on the nature of the product.

3. Reduce evaporation load. The evaporation load of the spray dryer is too large, which means that the solid content in the material is low. This will greatly reduce the thermal power of the dryer. Properly carry out the solid content of the feed liquid to reduce the evaporation load of the spray dryer.

4. Preheating the feed liquid before drying can shorten the drying cycle.

5. The tail gas often has a high temperature. The spray dryer can use the waste heat recovery system to effectively use the heat energy of the tail gas, which can be used as hot water in the washing process or re-enter the heat exchanger to dry the materials again.

The future development of spray drying equipment will focus on the in-depth study of drying mechanism and material drying characteristics, and the development and improvement of spray dryer. In addition, large-scale, high-strength, high economy, as well as improving the adaptability to raw materials and product quality, are the fundamental trends for the opening of spray dryers.
